Keynote Opening Words.
A brief introduction to the format and goals of the FREDtalks Conference and concept.
10:15 am - 12:00 pm
TOPIC - ADAPTING TO CHANGE.
Solutions to the problem of climate change, and the creativity and skills needed to address such unprecedented challenges.
The talks will open with a one hour feature film on the Transition Towns Movement called "In Transition 2.0" which details what this important global movement is currently doing to facilitate positive responses to climate change, peak oil, and economic instability.
(This film will be replacing the first two planned morning talks.)
The film will be followed at 11:15 by a presentation on Climate Change here in New Brunswick, and various ways people around the world are addressing this issue.

"ZAG WHILE THE REST ZIG" with ENTREPRENEURIAL MENTOR, RIVERS CORBETT.
An extended talk by "serial entrpreneur" and co-owner of the thriving reLiSH gourmet burger franchise. Rivers is an award winning speaker, has been praised by both Profit magazine and Startup Canada's National Advisory Committee, and teaches entrepreneurship and lifestyle design through his companies Startup CEO and RockStar Consulting.
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
TOPIC - TOWARD A NEW ECONOMY.
Solutions for developing ethical business and monetary models, capitalizing on latent strengths and talents, and democratic digital currencies.
The evening film selection will be a pair of short films, provided by film co-op producer Kevin Matthews, showing the development of the Evergreen family of Cooperatives in Cleveland, Ohio. We will also explore the subject of complementary or community currencies, such as the Calgary Dollar.
At 6:00, we will hear a talk titled "Seizing the Moment" by UNB alum and Planet Hatch start-up leader, Robert Ogilvie. Robert's talk will discuss how to leverage market-appropriate ideas, foster and develop talent, and make strategic use of limited initial resources.
At 6:30, rounding out the talks on emerging commercial trends will be Sherry Law's "Bitcoin: The Dawn of Frictionless Commerce". Sherry's talk will talk about the origin and growth of bitcoin, it's potential as a democratic global currency, and the kinds of social change it can enable.

1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
TOPIC - PEAK EVERYTHING.
Solutions to the issues of energy and material scarcity, and potential approaches to resilient local supply chains and prouction systems.
At 1 pm, we will hear from Chris Rouse of New Clear Free Solutions, a local energy advisory organization, will be speaking on the industrial and economic potential of Wind Energy in the province.
At 2pm, we will watch a presentation by Elon Musk about the need for a broad, systemic approach to emerging challenges, as he speaks about the inspirations for and relationships between Tesla Motors, SolarCity, and SpaceX.
Next, at 2:30, we have Professor Rodger Wilkie speaking on the nature of individuality and community through history and in the digital age and how we redefining our identity and relationships through our technologies - what will our relationships look like in a low-carbon future?
Finishing out the Peak Everything session at 3pm, we have Thandiwe McCarthy speaking on the importance of life-long learning, and the opportunities for personal growth and social impact through open-source educational platforms like Khan Academy and MIT's Open Course Ware.

KEYNOTE "STATE OF THE PROVINCE" ADDRESS with MLA, DAVID COON.
An extended talk by the region's MLA on the state of the environemnt and economy in New Brunswick, his experiences winning a seat in the Legislature, and his vision for the province going forward.
